Follicular Transplants
In addition to hair, it is possible to perform follicular transplants on different areas of the body, either to correct flaws or for aesthetic reasons.
It involves removing follicles to be placed in areas that have been damaged by age, excessive hair removal, burns, wounds or genetic defects.
This surgical technique can be applied to both sexes and to individuals over the age of 16. There is no age limit for the procedure, subject to a brief clinical assessment.
How does it work?
The most advanced technique with the best results in follicular transplant surgery is the FUE technique, which involves extracting follicles safely, without damaging them and avoiding scars. Using specific medical instruments with diameters of 0.7 to 1 mm, it is possible to perform follicular extraction and implantation precisely and practically imperceptibly. These diameter values, which are desirable to avoid the development of scars or other noticeable changes, are not achievable by extraction robots, which are also limited to collecting follicles in the occipital area. Subsequently, the follicular units are separated according to their number of hairs (there are units of one to four hairs) and implanted individually to allow for a natural result with the desired visual effect. This procedure is carried out by a team of experienced doctors and nurses, with the follicular extraction and implantation processes being the responsibility of the doctor and carried out entirely by the doctor. The number of follicles is assessed individually, on a case-by-case basis, according to what is necessary for the procedure desired by the patient.
Caused by age, constant waxing, burns or wounds, many women and men have a lack of hair on their eyebrows or marked scars, and this situation can be resolved by transplanting hair follicles to the eyebrow area. The duration of an eyebrow transplant can range from 2 to 5 hours and the number of follicles can range from 200 to 800 follicular units depending on the area to be corrected. There is no mandatory downtime and the results are progressive and can take up to 12 months.
It involves transplanting hair follicles using the FUE technique to thicken the beard or hide scars. In Europe, it is still a relatively unknown procedure, but it is now becoming quite popular in our country. A beard transplant can take between 4 and 12 hours and can be split into 2 consecutive days. The number of follicles can vary between 500 and 3,000 units.
It is possible to intensify this body area with follicles, whether to correct gaps, problems or to correct the current pattern. There are more and more cases of transplants for hair densification in the pubic region.
Reconstructions are a branch of hair surgery that aims to fill in follicle gaps in areas that have suffered scars, burns, genetic defects or previous medical interventions.
Many of these are located in hairy areas, such as the head, beard, moustache, limbs or pubic region. The FUE technique has brought new possibilities to hair transplant surgery, due to the absence of visible scars. We use a technique of individual manipulation of the follicle, in order to perform a more thorough surgery and a more perfect result.
The after-effects of burns are characterized by areas of alopecia and scarring fibrosis. To correct this, we can use several techniques, one of which is follicular implantation, again using the FUE method.
In most cases of surgeries performed a few years ago, the follicles were harvested using the FUT (strip) method, with the development of a scar. Whether for this reason or because adequate healing was not possible, it is possible to correct this by transplanting follicles to that area. In other cases, the hair density is not yet what the client desires or the result obtained does not have a natural appearance, so a new surgery is performed to increase density or correct previous surgeries.
The use of hair follicles from the body allows hair implants to be performed on patients without sufficient donor area. It is a more time-consuming technique that requires several sessions, but it has the great advantage of allowing this procedure to be performed on completely bald men.

Procedure
Follicular transplantation involves a process that varies depending on the area to be transplanted. It can be performed in 1 to 2 days and the results are always progressive and can take up to 12 months to obtain the final result.
