23 April, 2026Ozempic and Mounjaro: Groundbreaking Study Evaluates the Impact of Weight Loss on Skin Quality
UP Clinic is monitoring changes in skin quality among individuals starting treatment with GLP-1 receptor agonists, such as Ozempic® and Mounjaro®, throughout their weight loss journey.
In recent years, GLP-1 receptor agonists, including Ozempic® and Mounjaro®, have transformed the approach to weight management, helping many individuals achieve significant and sustainable weight loss more effectively. However, despite their well-established benefits, one important question continues to attract the attention of both healthcare professionals and patients: how does rapid weight loss affect skin quality and overall skin health?
At UP Clinic, we believe that body transformation should be accompanied by a comprehensive assessment of health and well-being. With this goal in mind, we have launched a pioneering study dedicated to monitoring the impact of GLP-1 receptor agonists on the skin throughout the weight loss process.
Why Is It Important to Monitor the Skin During Weight Loss?
The skin is the largest organ in the human body and plays a vital role in protection and physiological regulation. When significant weight loss occurs, particularly over a relatively short period, the skin is often one of the most affected tissues.
Potential changes may include:
- Reduced skin firmness;
- Loss of skin elasticity;
- Changes in skin hydration;
- Increased facial and body skin laxity;
- Alterations in skin texture and overall quality.
These changes vary from person to person and depend on several factors, including age, the amount of weight lost, genetics, and lifestyle habits. Nevertheless, there is still limited scientific data regarding how these changes develop in patients using GLP-1 receptor agonists.
A Pioneering Study at UP Clinic
Through this project, UP Clinic aims to monitor, in a structured and real-time manner, individuals beginning treatment with Ozempic®, Mounjaro®, or other GLP-1 receptor agonists.
Participants will undergo periodic assessments throughout the study, allowing us to evaluate how skin quality evolves during weight loss. This research will contribute to a better understanding of the effects of these medications and help establish more effective prevention and follow-up strategies.
Our objective is to better understand the relationship between weight loss and skin changes, promoting an integrated approach that considers not only weight reduction but also skin health and tissue quality.
Why Participate in This Study?
By participating, you will have the opportunity to undergo your weight loss journey with closer monitoring and support, benefiting from ongoing, complimentary assessments of your skin’s evolution.
In addition, you will be contributing to scientific knowledge in an area that remains relatively underexplored, helping improve our understanding of the effects of GLP-1 receptor agonists and supporting the development of increasingly personalized follow-up protocols.
Are You Considering Starting Ozempic® or Mounjaro®?
If you are considering treatment with Ozempic®, Mounjaro®, or another GLP-1 receptor agonist, we invite you to take part in this innovative study.
By taking part in this study, participants will not only gain valuable insights into their skin’s response to weight loss but also contribute to advancing scientific understanding in this emerging field.
At UP Clinic, we believe that the success of a transformation should not be measured solely by the numbers on the scale. Skin health, tissue quality, and overall well-being are also fundamental components of the process.
