Deep peeling

Deep peeling eliminates many layers of skin and thus all the imperfections in them, and is the most powerful facial rejuvenation procedure for wrinkle treatment.

What is a deep peel?

A deep peel eliminates many layers of skin and all its the imperfections.

It is probably the most powerful facial rejuvenation procedure that exists and is primarily meant to treat wrinkles. It is only performed on the face and can be done all over the face or only in the peri-buccal or periocular areas.

A deep peel is traditionally based on a product called phenol, but at Up Clinic we use an approved and certified formula that is more modern than the one initially used.

Who is a good candidate for a deep peel?

This peel is used to treat wrinkles when they are present all over the face from forehead to chin, through the periocular and peri-buccal areas.

The ideal prototypes are the II, III and some IV, which cannot be performed on darker skins.

It is essential to have a good general state of health and to be accompanied for the first 7 days. You need to be prepared to be away from social life for about 7 to 10 days until the first phase of treatment is completed and to have to take some oral medication. You should not be absent from the country for the next 2 months due to our follow-up protocol.

The skin cannot be tanned, so it is usually preferable to do the deep peel in autumn or winter. After the procedure there should be at least one month without direct sun exposure.

How do we do the deep peel?

In the weeks prior to deep peeling, the skin must be rigorously prepared with appropriate and individualized medical-cosmetic care. This ensures that the skin is all at the same level of renewal, which will allow a consistent and controlled penetration of the products.

Deep peeling is a demanding treatment being performed with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia, and may require a few days of internment. If performed only in the peri-buccal zone, the protocol developed at Up Clinic allows it to be performed in the clinic without anesthesia.

With the protocol we developed our deep peel is safe and well tolerated. There will be a need for some prophylactic oral medication.

Over the next few weeks, a rigorous recovery plan must be followed to progressively regenerate the skin and until the person is completely rejuvenated.

What are the results of deep peeling?

Deep peeling does not cause image changes, allowing you to maintain a natural look, just like yourself but much younger. The improvement of lip wrinkles, for example, is very significant without causing any swelling.

Results are visible after the first two to three weeks but much better after a few months as a result of the intense collagen production that occurs after the procedure. It is because of this process that sagging face also occurs.

The results can be sustained for years to come as their benefits are so long lasting that deep peeling is usually said to take place only once in a lifetime.

Treatments that can be combined

A few weeks earlier, application of botulinum toxin will, if indicated, reduce expression wrinkles on the upper face.

At the same operative moment of a cervicofacial facelift, deep peeling can be performed on the upper lip or the entire peri-buccal zone to enhance the rejuvenating effect of surgery that does not reach these zones.
